Back in Architecture Matters PART 12, I made a statement that raised a quite few eyebrows:
"Microsoft Project is dead. Long live PPM on Microsoft 365."
The point wasn't that using Microsoft for Project and Portfolio Management is going away. It's that the center of gravity is shifting from monolithic project management applications to a work management platform.

Not because Planner is more robust or has more features, but because organizations stopped searching for the next PPM application and started building a connected platform where people, processes, data, and AI work together.
The biggest mistake PMOs are making today is asking:
"What single PPM tool should we have?"
The better question is:
"What platform will enable project and work management in the age of AI?"
More and more organizations are discovering that future is already inside Microsoft 365 – in the flow of existing work, information, and as Microsoft says ‘Human Ambition’
