Microsoft sees a gap between formal project management and task management in the marketplace – and Innovative-e thinks they’re right.
Project for the web is a new product geared toward the occasional or casual project manager – somebody who is not formally trained but is responsible for getting project work done. These folks are looking for a better tool besides Excel, SharePoint or other third-party SaaS tools to meet their needs.
The new Project is entirely web-based, more user-friendly, and easier to get started with. For IT and security professionals, the new Project offers an opportunity to provide their users with more light-weight project management tool in Office365, which is safe, private and compliant. And, the new service is built on the Power Platform – the same platform as Flow, PowerApps and PowerBI – so this opens a huge potential for Project.
